The best travel blogs of 2020 - if the travel bloggers themselves get to decide

2021 started with an incredibly nice surprise for my little blog in the "Best Travel Blogs of 2020" poll!

No one can have escaped that 2020 has been neither the easiest nor the most inspiring year to be a travel blogger. Even though I've traveled a lot in Sweden's long country and discovered sides of Sweden that I didn't think existed, I've spent more time canceling trips than planning trips. Luckily, I have incredibly enterprising and innovative fellow bloggers who know how to cheer up, motivate and energize like this at the start of the new year.

Daniela on the travel blog Discovering the Planet arranged a small "Nobelfest" for us who blog about travel in Swedish, where we could vote for our own favorite blogs in several different categories. Simply Best Travel Blogs of 2020 – if the travel bloggers themselves get to decide. A little vitamin injection of blogging love. We are a small group of Swedish travel bloggers, so it wasn't about a few thousand votes. But maybe that's why I was so moved and happy by the result of the vote. To comb home one shared first place in the category "Collected work" together with the amazingly talented and talented Sofia on Fantasy trips, gives me energy to continue blogging for the whole of 2021 and beyond! Sofia also took home the victory in three categories, a well-deserved big victory for her!

So, be sure to enter and follow and read all the winners' travel blogs, Instagram and YouTube. There are so many incredibly talented Swedish travel bloggers out there to discover, hope you find some new favorites to follow!

-"But mom - that's not Mumbai, that's Dubai!"

I don't know how many times I have had to answer the question: "Doesn't it feel unnecessary to go to <"any place"> with the daughter now, isn't it better to wait until she can remember the trip?" After Saturday's movie night, I've actually changed my answer.

Pisa - Or a post about overtourism and travel disappointment - Italy

Traveling should be exciting, inspiring and provide lifelong memories, but what if your destination instead turns into a disgusting soup of over-tourism and all you want to do is leave? That's what happened to me in Pisa.

This year's road trip went to the Dordogne – but that wasn't the intention at all

We were going to trade sea for mountains and Chablis for Pilsner. Instead, it ended up with a road trip to foie gras and Monbazillac and a spontaneous declaration of love to France. Here's the story of how my poor foresight resulted in the perfect last-minute road trip!

The travel year 2020. The year that turned out to be something other than any of us could have ever imagined. The year that for me started in Vilnius and ended with covid-19.
