Uppland offers lots of history and coastal scenery. We love exploring the area's castles and usually take the opportunity to visit the occasional farm cafe along the way.
Right outside Sigtuna the yellow castle Steninge is located at a perfect excursion distance from Stockholm. Sit down for a coffee in the sun at the café or wander among the goldenrods in the castle garden.
It was 10 years since we were last in Uppsala, so it was clearly time for a return visit! It was a day trip from Stockholm filled with culture, history and the occasional treat.
